When Payge reached out about doing their engagement session at The Grid Arcade Bar in Pensacola, I didn't even hesitate. Yes, absolutely, one hundred percent yes. But when she told me why The Grid meant so much to them, I fell in love with this session before it even started.
See, Brandon and Payge shared their very first kiss right there at The Grid — over the Skee-Ball machine, the result of a little wager Brandon made. (Bold move, Brandon. Bold move.) So when it came time to capture their engagement, there was really only one place that made sense to start. This wasn't just a cool backdrop — it was their place. The place where their story began.
What to Expect During Your Arcade Engagement Session
The Vibe: Relaxed, fun, and totally you. An arcade session is all about connection and personality. We'll wander through the games, play a few rounds, steal glances at each other under the neon, and let the environment do the heavy lifting.
The Light: The Grid's interior neon and screen glow create a gorgeous warm, colorful light that makes for rich, moody images. We'll time our session to work with the available light and use the glow of the game screens to our advantage.
The Games: Part of the fun is just playing. I'll capture the real moments — the competitive side-eye, the victory dance, the quiet moment when you're waiting for your turn. With Brandon and Payge, we made sure to spend time at the Skee-Ball machine — you know, for obvious reasons. Watching them laugh together in the exact spot where their relationship began?
